Frequently Asked Questions

  • Thank you for your interest in my work. Due to the volume of requests I receive, I’m not able to participate in interviews for school assignments, student projects, or class research. I hope that my published writing, recorded talks, and existing interviews will be useful for your project.

  • Yes! I accept a limited number of paid speaking engagements, including book talks and book club discussions. I am also available for book talks for bar associations and legal professional organizations with a minimum order of 100 books. If you would like to inquire, please include details such as the nature of the event, audience, location, proposed dates, and budget.

  • Although, I have great respect for many organizations and causes I’m not able to accept any unpaid speaking engagements at this time. As a working parent, participation in events requires arranging and covering childcare, as well as time away from my young children. For these reasons, speaking commitments must be compensated so that I can manage my professional and family responsibilities responsibly.

  • Yes. A number of my book talks and lectures are available on YouTube and may be watched or screened in classrooms at no cost. These recordings are often the most practical way for students and instructors to engage with my work.

  • Yes! I consider applications for research assistant positions – but only from students currently enrolled at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. I have been fortunate to work with many outstanding students and have maintained long-standing relationships with a number of former research assistants who are now doing meaningful work in the world. Please note that I can only work with ASU law students, regardless of the impressive qualifications or enthusiasm of students or graduates from other insituttions. Those not at ASU seeking internship opportunities may wish to explore government offices, academic institutions, or nonprofit organizations that offer internships and volunteer roles.

  • I appreciate hearing from readers! Because of the volume of messages I receive, I’m not able to respond to individual inquiries. You are welcome to stay in touch by joining my email newsletter, where I share updates, new work, and upcoming events.

  • To ensure fairness and consistency across a high volume of requests, I generally adhere to these policies and am not able to make exceptions.

  • You can find more through my published work, recorded talks, interviews, and other materials available online. I hope these resources provide a useful and accessible way to engage with my work.
